This is a piece that I wrote for my english one teacher who retired this year. I was very sad to see him learn because he made me grow as a writer and a person. I have changed his name cause I really like my personal life to stay away from the internet at this point in time since I am a minor. On another note, My highschool uses a trimenster system, so we have 3 tris in a year. This also means you may have english 1st tri and 2nd tri or 1st and 3rd. Please leave any comments towards this. Or write something like this?
By first glance you know he's teached longer than you've been around. By the first day, you know how old school this man really is. It's more or less rhythm for this old man but to you this is new material. You come in everyday read or write for 20 minute blocks. If you're reading, he is too. If you're writing an essay or paragraph, so is he. Which is what really got me first, but not as much as he would wipe the board clean every time. Even if this man had written the best paragraph in your freshman mind. It would be gone, and he doesn't write it down.
You're suppose to come out of English IA and B with knowledge of plot lines, charcter deelopment, short stories, and novels. And two classics. But really I learned more from this wise teacher.
Yet again, I've never had a teacher like him or ever will because he is one of a kind. I've never been told to shut up in his class. Never once, even if I had jumped into him talking, which I did several times, which still shocks me? He has always been polite and respectful even when I was at my rudest. Which I seemed to be.
Respectful. I take this with me on my next three years of Highschool. Treat other how you would be treated. Therefore I want to be treated with respect.
Reasonability. This is something I lack in. I'm always full of excuses. I've learned that it's me. Me, as the student to take responabilty in my work.
Pride and value. Take pride in my work. To always turn in my best example of finest. So I can be proud. I say value. To value not loose or wait to do it.
So, Mr. English teacher what else have you taught me? Beside what I got by sitting in your class , the days I was here.
I know this isn't best educator or an award but it's an honset thank you. Thank you for what I learned this year from you. Thank you for improvig me as a writer and a person. Most of all, thank you for putting up with me everyday. All the stuff I've pulled and everything. You will be greatly missed by me, but you have influenced me to try as hard as I can because the reward is how you feel when you want to turn in that essay or project. Thank you.
This would be an example of my "best" work.
Sindearly
