Ashes – A poem by Aaron Roles

I find myself lying here, in the ashes, in the rubble, alone.
I want to know why, why this had to happen, to me.
I don't know where my family is.
My breathing is faint.
My glasses are foggy.
I hear all the screams.
Where are you now?
Will you ever save me?
I can't move.
I'd rather just die.
Can you hear me cry?
Just find me…please.
Will you answer my prayers?
I'll miss you when I'm gone.
I find myself lying here, in the ashes, in the rubble, dead.

I hope you enjoyed.
With respect, Aaron
